NASA Crew-10 Mission Returns to Earth After ISS Expedition

The NASA Crew-10 mission has successfully returned to Earth, marking the completion of the agency’s 10th commercial crew rotation to the International Space Station (ISS). The crew splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California on Saturday, concluding months of vital scientific work in orbit.

Splashdown and Recovery

At 11:33 a.m. EDT, NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov landed safely. SpaceX recovery teams quickly retrieved the Dragon spacecraft and crew. After reaching shore, the astronauts traveled to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston to reunite with their families.

“Splashdown! Crew-10 is back on Earth,” said NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy. “Our missions are the foundation for long-duration exploration, building toward a future where humans explore the Moon and Mars.”

Launch and Docking Timeline

Crew-10 launched on March 14 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. About 29 hours later, the Dragon spacecraft docked to the Harmony module’s forward-facing port. After undocking on August 8, the team began its journey home.

Research and Achievements

During the mission, Crew-10 traveled over 62 million miles and completed 2,368 orbits of Earth. They conducted experiments on plant growth, space radiation effects on DNA, and microgravity’s impact on human vision and cells. The astronauts also performed a spacewalk to relocate an antenna and install hardware for future solar arrays.
